ARGUMENT

A song that heals the ills of the heart
Annie Trimble living in a lonely world where no one can enter or understand. So delicate and beautiful as the sweet flowers of spring in Oregon, is rejected by a people who misinterprets her affliction. But this cruelty can not destroy the love that Annie carries in his heart.
Alex Montgomery is horrified to learn that his rebellious younger brother has been forced into a relationship with a helpless "silly girl." Tormented by guilt, Alex agrees to marry her and raise the baby she expects as her own. But he never dreams that will come to love their affectionate, quiet and Annie misjudged his childish innocence, her feminine charms, and amazing vision she has the world. Then he insists on breaking the barrier of silence that surrounds it, to heal and be healed by the sweet song of love Annie.

This is a book that has surprised me a lot, because when I read the argument seemed attractive, but I could not imagine the depth, strength and beauty that were written in these pages.

The author deals with a subject such as deafness, in a nineteenth century woman. A woman's society then pigeonholed as "dumb" in the pejorative sense of the word. His own parents are more interested in you say and the past of mental illness in his family that his daughter and a child neglect to the point of confusing disease with mental retardation.

The story introduces us to Annie, a girl in her twenties who enjoys walking in the forest, despite its weakness as everyone in town always been treated as a pariah, as a delayed, lives happily in their particular world ... A world that is truncated when it is violated by the younger brother of one of the important families of the people.

Montgomeri
Alex had lost their parents years ago and was found having to bring up her wayward half-brother, when a night comes to his ears the confession that his younger brother had raped the young Annie, Alex does not hesitate to put an end to the life of his brother's excesses, and slams it home. Overwhelmed and embarrassed by the despicable act committed by his brother, decided to occupy the same small Annie, especially when he discovers that the girl is pregnant, so without hesitation and with a view to protecting the innocent "girl", Alex gets married with it.

But Annie is not the girl he expected, but it is quite an intelligent woman. Gradually, Alex begins to consider events and activities in which Annie seems to show a higher intelligence to which they believed, likewise their love for her grows slowly and is divided between protecting his wife and teach something that had hitherto been elusive for her. The true meaning of love and affection.

This is how Alex discovers that Annie girl is not retarded and dangerous than their parents had assumed, if not that what we have is a strong deafness. Armed with courage and patience, he embarks on the task of restoring happiness to his wife, facing the task of explaining and helping along a pregnancy she does not understand and opening a new world that until now has been banned for it.

This is a book with an impressive backdrop, the quality of people look and feel in each of the written words, Alex will learn next to Annie the beauty of life, small things and that a disease such as deafness is not an impediment or a reason to be detained in a mental hospital. And Annie, she can finally confront a world that had only been seeing since the barriers.

Catherine Anderson has managed to produce a beautiful story, sensitive readers will not leave unmoved.

I have really enjoyed this book.

My rating is a 9 .
